The incident occurred on January 3 on Ściegiennego Street in Legnica. At 11:30 a.m., officers from the Prevention Department wanted to stop an Audi for inspection. The man driving the vehicle, after seeing the signals given by the officers, did not stop. On the contrary, he accelerated sharply. The police began a pursuit.
The fleeing driver reached Wazów Street. There, he stopped the vehicle, jumped out and began fleeing on foot. He was apprehended after several dozen metres.
It turned out that the 24-year-old resident of Legnica had fled from the police because his authorization to drive motor vehicles had been revoked.
The suspect was taken into police custody. He now faces up to 5 years in prison and a driving ban of up to 15 years.
