On December 27, we reported that Stanisław Kozioł, a community activist, deputy president of the District Board of the Volunteer Fire Brigades Association, and former chief of the Volunteer Fire Department and police station in Gromadka, had died. He was 67. He died after an eight-year battle with illness.

Two days later, the final farewell for the deceased was held at the Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Osła (Gromadka Municipality). After the Mass, the cortege proceeded to the municipal cemetery in Gromadka, where the body of S. Kozioł was laid to rest.

As we read on the website of the Bolesławiec District Headquarters of the State Fire Service:

The deceased had previously served as the Municipal Commander of the Volunteer Fire Brigades Association of the Republic of Poland in Gromadka, as well as President of the Municipal Board of the Volunteer Fire Brigades Association of the Republic of Poland of Gromadka Municipality. For many years, he participated in the work of the District Board of the Volunteer Fire Brigades Association of the Republic of Poland. He was repeatedly decorated for activities related to firefighting.

Sharing the family’s grief, we believe that in heaven, the late Stanisław has taken up eternal service among the ranks of Saint Florian.

May his memory be honored.
