We received a report from a reader that on Cieszkowskiego Street in Bolesławiec, at the point where railway tracks cross the roadway, there were terrible potholes and the area was quite dangerous. As the Bolesławiec resident added, drivers were moving toward the center line to avoid the potholes, which meant that an accident could occur there one day.

We contacted Joanna Borkowska, spokesperson for the Wrocław branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways. The spokesperson said:

The railway crossing on the section of national road No. 94d from km 41+269 to km 41+315 provides access to the railway siding of the PKN Orlen concern. Regarding the poor technical condition of the crossing’s surface, the GDDKiA District Office in Lubań intervened in a letter in October 2017. The defects and faults in the crossing surface identified at that time were repaired by the crossing’s owner.

On January 2, GDDKiA services inspected the condition of the crossing’s surface again. The potholes and uneven sections had once again appeared outside the road lane, and their repair is the responsibility of the owner of the railway crossing, PKN Orlen. We were informed that the potholes would be repaired.

On January 3, GDDKiA road workers confirmed that the potholes had been repaired.
