The District Court in Jelenia Góra issued a judgment in the case against two police officers who exceeded their powers and beat a suspect during his arrest.
Investigators established that the incident occurred on the night of September 7–8, 2015, in Piechowice. After a successful pursuit and arrest, two officers from the police station in Jelenia Góra beat the suspect. The men kicked him and hit him with their fists; they struck him repeatedly, causing the injured party minor bodily injuries.
The Jelenia Góra court found the defendants guilty and sentenced them to six months in prison, suspended for two years. Both also received five-year bans on working as police officers and must each pay PLN 3,000 to the man they beat.
