A Walk with Mateusz, held as part of the Copper Basin Running Grand Prix, will take place on January 13 in Iwiny (Warta Bolesławiecka municipality). This will be a special run. This time, the runners will support Mateusz Waśniewski, a young resident of Tomaszów Bolesławiecki.
The exceptional boy is 8 years old. He was born with Down syndrome; he also suffers from hyperthyroidism and has a significant visual impairment. Mateusz’s sister, Mrs. Marzena, about her brother:
Like all his peers, he enjoys discovering the world, getting to know new places, playing and getting into mischief :) Mateuszek loves spending time with his friends from kindergarten, where they play and learn together every day. And most importantly, they help one another.
But Mateuszek’s life does not revolve solely around kindergarten. As befits a very active eight-year-old, he likes running, playing football and stretching his body with astonishing flexibility :) Once Mati has taken care of his body, he also needs to look after his spirit :) He really enjoys various kinds of board games, modeling compounds, toys featuring cartoon characters and “dinosaurs” — that is, dinosaurs.
Well, we cannot fail to mention that our beloved Mateuszek loves all kinds of soups — he is an enormous connoisseur of them, and therefore is very eager to help prepare meals. And he has a very sophisticated palate :)
That is right — our Mati is an (un)ordinary boy whose sensitivity and empathy make you want to get to know him better and enter his enchanted world. And we invite you into that world…
