The accident occurred on Monday, December 18, a few minutes before 9:00 a.m., at an unguarded railway crossing on 11 Listopada Street in Szklarska Poręba.
Preliminary findings indicate that, for undetermined reasons, the 42-year-old driver of a Hyundai drove into the path of a train traveling from Gdynia to Jelenia Góra.
The man died at the scene. Police and the prosecutor’s office are investigating the causes of the tragedy.
