Officers from the Property Crime Department of the Legnica Municipal Police Headquarters received information about a couple who were allegedly hiding significant quantities of drugs in one of the apartments in the city.
The officers went to the premises used by a 43-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man. When they arrived, the 43-year-old woman attempted to block the entrance to the rooms where the drugs were located with her body. (As the police officers were entering one of those rooms, another woman present in the apartment threw some of the drugs out of the window.)
In total, the officers seized more than one thousand retail portions of narcotic substances—approximately 500 doses each of marijuana and methamphetamine. The officers also secured, among other items, a scale and equipment for grinding drugs.
The 19-year-old and the 43-year-old woman were detained. The former was charged with possession and trafficking in narcotic substances. The young man, who now faces up to 10 years in prison, was placed under police supervision.
