This is particularly good news for people whose incomes are not very high and for whom a payment from ZUS is their only source of support. Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych normally pays pensions and disability benefits on six dates, including the 25th of each month.
– In December, this final payment date always falls on Christmas Day, and as a result, many ZUS clients contact our offices to ask whether they will receive their pensions and disability benefits before Christmas – says Iwona Kowalska, ZUS regional press spokesperson in Lower Silesia. She assures them: – All payments will be made by 22 December at the latest, so that our clients have money for their final Christmas shopping.
To make this possible, benefits delivered by postal workers will be sent to the post office early enough to be delivered to homes by 22 December at the latest. People who receive their benefits through a bank will receive them even sooner.
