The children began their visit to Carrefour Bolesławiec with refreshments consisting of delicious fruit and sweets. At the start of the visit, they toured the bakery, where each pupil could prepare their own sweet roll. After washing their hands and putting on protective aprons, the children first watched the bakers make challah, rolls and cookies, and then prepared their own baked goods. Afterwards, they viewed the store’s warehouse, including its cold rooms and storage areas for dairy products and fruit, and learned how to neatly pack cardboard boxes. Packaging from goods is stored and sent for recycling.
The greatest fun for the children was working at the checkouts. Scanning the goods proved to be a fascinating activity. With considerable help from the cashier and the great kindness of the customers, the children were able to scan purchases and observe how a transaction takes place. Each child held the scanner with excitement and, with great concentration, read the prices of the products passing through the checkout.
At the end of the visit, the children returned to the table laden with food, and a special guest came to see them. The day before, St. Nicholas had visited the children. Each one received a really large package full of treats. Touring the Carrefour Bolesławiec hypermarket was both a pleasure and an adventure.
