The incident occurred around midnight on the night from Saturday to Sunday. An ATM was broken into in Wisznia Mała (Trzebnica County). Police officers who wanted to apprehend the burglars in the act were fired upon with an automatic weapon by one of the criminals. The officers returned fire. The criminal who shot at the police officers was killed at the scene. The second suspect was arrested.
One of the police officers died as a result of his injuries. Three others were wounded and taken to hospital. Fortunately, their lives are not in danger.
The police and prosecutor’s office are currently investigating all the circumstances of the incident in detail. The family of the police officer who died tragically has already received psychological support.
