Officers from the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec, together with road managers, inspected national, provincial, county and municipal roads located in Zgorzelec County. The aim of these activities was to identify places that could pose hazards. Attention was paid, among other things, to:
- road surface condition
- contradictory, incorrect and illegible road signs
- excessively restrictive speed limits
- missing or damaged road equipment
- poorly profiled sections of roads
- trees growing too close to the roadway.
In 2017 alone, Zgorzelec traffic police submitted 350 requests to road managers for improvements or changes to road infrastructure. “We would also like to remind you that any resident of our county who identifies irregularities on the roads can report them through the National Map of Safety Threats, which can be used throughout the year to indicate existing hazards, including those related to road traffic safety,” the officers say.
