Officers from the Criminal Department of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters detained a 22-year-old man suspected of stealing fuel. The officers determined that the detainee had drained 900 liters of fuel from a locomotive standing on sidings. (Police officers found barrels containing the stolen diesel fuel in bushes near the railway tracks.) It also emerged that the 22-year-old had borrowed a car to transport the stolen property.

The man had already been in conflict with the law: he had been convicted of drug possession and fraud. He has now been charged with stealing fuel worth PLN 4,000. He faces up to five years in prison.

Police recovered more than 200 liters of fuel.
