On 6 December, St. Nicholas Day, a beautifully dressed Santa and Snow Maiden will hand out presents prepared by parents. As every year, Santa will be waiting for well-behaved children under the Christmas tree in the lobby of BOK – MCC, at J. Piłsudskiego Square, from 14:00 to 18:00. Be sure to visit the kind Santa and the very warm-hearted Snow Maiden.

From Friday, 1 December, children can be registered for the art workshops “Around the Traditions of Christmas”, which will be held on Saturday, 16 December, on the second floor of BOK – MCC from 11:00 to 13:00. Telephone registration is available at the BOK – MCC office at J. Piłsudskiego Square, tel. 75 644 21 45. During the workshops, children, together with their parents and instructors, will create felt Christmas tree decorations and presents to put under the tree: cases for tablets and phones. Each participant must bring several or a dozen or so sticks, each several centimetres long, to create the decorative trees. The organiser will provide the other materials.

From 11 December at 12:00, the post-competition nativity scene exhibition can also be viewed at the “W sam raz” gallery at BOK – MCC. The exhibition will be open until 3 January 2018.

On St. Nicholas Day, great cartoons will be shown at Forum cinema

“Barbie: Dolphin Magic”, two screenings in the small auditorium at 14:00 and 15:30 (the film will be shown until 14 December).

However, it is not an ordinary dolphin, but a beautiful, bright green Risso’s dolphin.

The film “COCO”, two screenings in the large auditorium at 15:30 and 18:00. The film’s protagonist is Miguel. Music has been forbidden in his family for generations. However, Miguel dreams of following in the footsteps of his idol, the great musician Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent to the world, he is led by a series of strange events to the incredibly colourful Land of the Dead.

“A Santa in Every Person” is a Norwegian family film with dubbing, screened at 16:45 in the small auditorium.

The film conveys a Christmas message: you do not have to be an adult or wealthy to become Santa for your loved ones. And when you discover the beauty of a warm family Christmas and share that joy with people important to you, who knows—you may meet Santa Claus himself.

All screenings on 6 December include a happy seats (lucky seat) surprise. Forum cinema invites you together with KinAds, the advertising broker and operator of Poland’s largest cinema network, and EPEE Polska Sp. z. o.o.

Performances on the Forum stage

On Thursday, 7 December at 19:00, the exceptional “The Marriage of Figaro”, an opera by W.A. Mozart, will be performed on the Forum stage by exceptionally talented students of the Vocal Department of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. The Marriage of Figaro is one of the most recognisable operas in the history of classical music. The score of “The Marriage of Figaro” contains so many beautiful melodies and masterful ensembles that they could be distributed among several other operas. It is impossible to count the musical motifs one hums for at least several days after leaving the performance—and sometimes for an entire lifetime.
Tickets cost 55 zł and are available at the Forum cinema box office, tel. 75 645 32 92; reservations: kino.boleslawiec.pl.

On Saturday, 9 December at 12:00, the baroque ballet fairy tale “Sleeping Beauty”, adapted by the Corona Florum dancers, will tell Charles Perrault’s fairy tale of the same title through dance and pantomime. The libretto is based on the original fairy tale, but was partially changed and adapted for the stage to show audiences the dance of the Baroque era more clearly. It features original choreographies by French Baroque masters, court dances from the era of Louis XIV, as well as pantomime in the background accompanied by music from that period. The fairy tale is structured so that it can appeal both to a young child and to an adult. Everyone can find something for themselves.
