The concert took place on Tuesday, December 30, in the auditorium of the Młodzieżowy Dom Kultury. This time, the MDK participants presented pieces arranged for multiple voices. “From among several dozen participants in the vocal workshops, a group emerged that was interested in polyphonic singing,” says Marek Łętowski, an MDK teacher. “The Music School choir presents itself beautifully. We hope that one day we will reach a similar level,” he adds.
The concert program consisted mainly of Christmas carols and pieces with a holiday theme. Though not exclusively. “We also chose repertoire not strictly related to the holidays,” Łętowski notes. The young vocalists performed, among other pieces, the song “Uciekali” from the musical “Metro”.
On Tuesday evening, Sabina Tomczyna made her stage debut at MDK, singing four Christmas carols (“Mizerna, cicha”, “Przybieżeli do Betlejem”, “Lulajże Jezuniu” and “Narodził się Jezus Chrystus”).
The next concert by MDK participants will take place in February.
