You turn up at this stretch wearing ties, with secretaries and media staff, and pose for a photograph. But why are you showing off on this renovated little pavement? I don't know. Because you signed some piece of paper? Put a stamp on it? Because once you signed the relevant document, the accountant made the transfer? Looking after the condition of roads is your everyday, ordinary work, not something ceremonial.
And worst of all: that renovated kilometre, or kilometre and a half, is always presented with the kind of ceremony associated in the PRL with completing an economic plan. Soon you will involve preschoolers to scatter flowers for you, along with some local Little Bolesławiec singing patriotic songs. The town band would look nice there too. If a delegation—starosta, mayor, commune head, department heads, the media and three press officers—travels to the opening of a kilometre of road, then why not a choir and the parish priest? Exactly, why is there no priest to sprinkle this stretch of asphalt with holy water? So that there are no accidents and God watches over it.
In the photograph below, cheerful local government officials are blocking the renovated road from view. After all, it is not the most important thing here.
There is even sadder news for you, local government officials. People are not merely laughing. This road-related publicity stunt annoys them. And they express very clearly what they think about it. Unfortunately, I know that nothing and no one will dissuade you from this wonderful idea, and that you will ceremonially open many more road sections. Before you do, listen to the voice of the sovereign. The voter whom, as you cheerfully demonstrate, you regard as an idiot.
Below is a forum post beneath the report: Safe in Ocice. “No one will come with a baseball bat to hold us accountable”
What kind of propaganda is this? And what about the section from the Gościszów side? It is no longer possible to drive a tank there; it is pathetic. You open one section, take photos of yourselves, give interviews, cut ribbons, while behind your backs there is a veritable training ground. Perhaps no one will come with baseball bats, but they might come with a wheelbarrow at the next election.
