For two weeks in October, primary school students read in their classes and explored Polish legends in various ways. In November, children from the second- and third-grade classes took part in a contest and game under the title “In the World of Polish Legends”. The guests, readers and jury members at the contest were: Deputy Mayor Kornel Filipowicz, MOSiR director Jacek Dudyński, Termy director Łukasz Jaźwiec, MBP representative Marzena Czułajewska and the school’s headmistress Irena Sikora-Kołodyńska. The contest focused on legends about the Wawel Dragon, the Poznań goats, the Warsaw Mermaid, the Kraków bugle call, and Lech, Czech and Rus. Students from grades VI–VII, prepared under the guidance of Anna Kozłowska, presented younger classmates with characters and props from well-known legends.
The class teams presented Polish folk dances and rhymes and had fun together. As a reward, they received certificates and copies of the book “Polish Legends”. Marzena Czułajewska donated wonderful books to the school library on behalf of the Municipal Public Library. The meeting ended with group photographs. The event was prepared by teachers Monika Grzyb, Elżbieta Grzyb and Małgorzata Oleś.
