Jeleniogórska police officers detained a 32-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra County. The man is suspected of brutally beating a 41-year-old man.
The incident took place on Independence Day on one of the streets of Jelenia Góra. That day, the victim was spending time with his friends at a venue. The aforementioned 32-year-old was also there. He was drinking alcohol. At one point, he began accosting one of the victim’s female friends.
When the 41-year-old and his friends left the venue, the suspect followed them. An argument broke out between the men in the street, during which the younger man attacked the older one. He beat and kicked him. The victim was taken to hospital in serious condition.
After the incident, the 32-year-old hid at a female acquaintance’s home in one of the towns near Jelenia Góra. Police determined the suspect’s whereabouts and detained him.
The man was first taken to police custody and was later placed in temporary custody for two months. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
