The incident occurred on November 4. At around 5:20 a.m., the operator of the Bolesławiec city monitoring system noticed a man carrying various types of exercise equipment from the back of Rynek Street.
The man behaved rather nervously and kept looking around. Several times, he carried items from one location and took them to the back of Sierpnia ’80 Street and toward the park area (Głowackiego Street).
The monitoring operator notified the duty officer at the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters, who dispatched a patrol to the scene. However, the officers were unable to locate the suspicious man.
The following day, a resident of Rynek reported to the Bolesławiec Municipal Police headquarters and informed the officers that his basement had been burglarized. The victim was referred to the District Police Headquarters.
Based on monitoring footage, officers from the District Police Headquarters identified the perpetrator of the burglary. The man was arrested and faces up to 10 years in prison. (The stolen property was recovered.)
