The incident occurred on Monday, October 30, before 8:00 p.m., in Wołów County. A police officer from the Lubin police headquarters, while off duty, noticed a car driving across the entire width of the road. When the driver turned into a parking lot by a shop, the officer prevented him from driving any farther.
The officer detected a strong smell of alcohol from both the driver and the female passenger. When officers from Wołów arrived at the scene, it emerged that the driver had over 2 promille, while the passenger had over 3 promille of alcohol in her system.
As it turned out, the man decided to drive because he was less drunk than his companion. He now faces up to two years in prison.
