Police officers were conducting an investigation into a series of burglaries at flats and houses that had taken place recently in Legnica. Much indicated that all of these crimes had been committed by the same person.
The man identified by the officers was arrested. He is just 18 years old! In his flat, the officers secured both the proceeds from the burglaries and items that could have been used to commit crimes.
“Investigators gathered extensive evidence indicating that over the past several weeks, the man had most probably broken into houses and flats five times, stealing valuable items, including electronic equipment, a bicycle, jewellery, money and cameras,” says junior warrant officer Iwona Król-Szymajda of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica. “On the basis of the case evidence, police officers charged the 18-year-old with five offences, including four counts of burglary and one count of attempted burglary.”
The teenager pleaded guilty. By court decision, he was temporarily detained for three months. He could face up to 10 years in prison.
