Drunk drivers are one of the greatest threats to road safety. When driving under the influence, they do not think about the possibility of killing someone or how severe the penalty they face may be. They believe they will get away with it.

On Monday (October 23), Bolesławiec police officers carried out the first activities as part of the Dangerous Promille campaign, with particular attention paid to national roads as the main routes used by heavy goods vehicles.

Bolesławiec officers tested more than 230 drivers. All of them were sober. The activities will be repeated throughout the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

Every day, the media report on another drunk driver who has run someone over, fled from the police or caused a fatal accident. Increasingly often, this involves professional drivers transporting people or goods. Unfortunately, the problem of impaired driving on the roads cannot be completely eliminated; however, regularly conducted, targeted police operations can significantly reduce it.
