During the meeting of SLD activists and supporters, held on Thursday, December 19, at the party headquarters on Opitza Street, Adam Zdaniuk, director of the district hospital, spoke, among other things, about the condition of the facility. From January to June 2008, the hospital incurred a monthly loss of PLN 350,000. Thanks to Zdaniuk’s unpopular decisions (he became head of the SP ZOZ in March this year) and negotiations with the National Health Fund, the facility got back on track. “We closed November with a positive result—PLN 640,000,” the director said. “The current situation is encouraging.”

Adam Zdaniuk also addressed the issue of investments. SP ZOZ announced a tender for the establishment of a Hospital Emergency Department. The director hopes that the department will be contracted in June 2009. A dialysis station is also scheduled to open in the spring.
