On Monday, October 16, a ceremony marking National Education Day was held at the Old Theatre in Bolesławiec. Interestingly, for the first time it was organized jointly by two local governments: Powiat Bolesławiecki and Gmina Miejska Bolesławiec. The county head Karol Stasik expressed hope that next year the other municipalities in the county would also become involved in organizing the ceremony.
The ceremony provided an opportunity to honor outstanding education workers. Adam Maksymczyk, the former longtime director of the Mechanical School Complex, received the Minister of National Education’s Award. Medals of the Commission of National Education were awarded to Małgorzata Janowska and Grzegorz Jankowski. Meanwhile, medals for long service were presented to: Barbara Smoleńska, Dorota Biernat and Sylwia Brońska.
