The whole matter came to light thanks to the vigilance of the kindergarten teachers, who noticed bruises on the 4-year-old. The women notified the Municipal Social Welfare Centre in Lubin.
Social workers immediately went to the educational institution. The numerous bruises on the child’s body left no doubt. He had been beaten. The information was passed on to district police officers from the Prevention Division of the District Police Headquarters in Lubin.
The district police officers established that the 4-year-old had been misbehaving, which angered his 41-year-old father. The man first beat the child with a stick and ordered him to kneel on the floor. Then he locked the 4-year-old in the bathroom for several days. Without food.
The 41-year-old resident of Lubin was arrested. He was first taken to police custody and then—by court decision—temporarily detained for three months. He could face up to 12 years in prison.
