The ceremony presenting donations from the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, attended among others by WOŚP head Jerzy Owsiak and President of the General Board of the Association of Volunteer Fire Brigades of the Republic of Poland Waldemar Pawlak, took place on Friday, October 6, in Bydgoszcz.

As reported by the onet.pl website:

Specialist equipment, such as power generators, sludge pumps and petrol chainsaws, was handed over to units that took part in operations to save lives and property and remove damage in areas affected by the August storms. Rescue equipment was delivered to units throughout Poland, including PSP R1 rescue kits, mannequins, orthopedic boards and defibrillators.

Among the Lower Silesian units receiving donations from the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity was OSP Ruszów (Zgorzelec County), which cooperates, among others, with the Bolesławiec fire service.

The funds provided for the purchase of equipment for Volunteer Fire Service units came from donations made to support the Orchestra’s statutory activities.
