The editorial team of IstotneInformacje.pl was notified about the matter by a Reader, who wished to remain anonymous. The woman claimed that no one was watching over the group of boys who attend Sunday classes at the indoor swimming pool, organized by the Inter-School Sports Centre. “The lifeguard was fantastic. He was doing everything he could, but he was unable to calm the children. And there simply was no supervisor,” said the Reader.
Eighteen boys attend the Sunday classes. Such a group should be supervised by at least one person. “This is simply unimaginable,” the Reader said indignantly. “These are our children,” added Aneta Bańska-Bodziona, one of the people who also witnessed the incident. – “I would not want them to swim without supervision.”
“This will not happen again. The man responsible for the children’s safety was dismissed with immediate effect,” Edward Spraski, director of the MOS, told IstotneInformacje.pl.
The classes began in mid-October. It is not known how many times the supervisor failed to fulfil his duty. The Reader informed us that he had been absent from the Sunday classes at least five times. “I had not received any reports earlier,” Spraski explained. – “I would have reacted immediately.” He added that he had already found a replacement.
