The murder took place on the night of October 17–18, 1991, in one of the houses in Lwówek County. An unknown perpetrator at the time murdered a 32-year-old man. The victim’s wife found the body. She claimed that someone had attacked her husband.
The findings and actions carried out by police officers in cooperation with the Lower Silesian Branch of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor’s Office in Wrocław, as well as the collected evidence—supported by examinations conducted by experts from the forensic laboratory of the Lower Silesian police—enabled investigators to identify those suspected of the crime: the murdered man’s former wife and her partner.
Lower Silesian officers came across the suspects’ trail while investigating a 1993 crime committed in the same county. The officers established certain circumstances that they linked to the murder of the man in 1991.
The murdered man’s ex-wife and her partner were taken into police custody. According to the police findings, the attack reported by the woman had been staged. The suspects were charged with murder, and the court then ordered them held in temporary custody for three months. They may face life imprisonment.
