Bolesławiec County asked the Voivodeship Environmental Protection Inspectorate to have a WIOŚ representative present information about the state of the environment in our county and voivodeship at the September session of the County Council. However, this did not happen. In a letter addressed to the county governor Karol Stasik, the head of the Inspectorate’s Jelenia Góra delegation referred the county officials to... reports and studies published on WIOŚ’s website.
“We were sent this study electronically,” K. Stasik explained during the session. “It is a very extensive document. And we are interested in detailed information about our county. There were mentions of Bolesławiec in four chapters. However, based on this document, and without being a specialist, it is impossible to assess the state of the environment in our county.”
The county governor proposed asking WIOŚ inspectors, whom the Council cannot force to come to Bolesławiec, for an analytical extract from the report devoted specifically to our county. Opposition councillor Kazimierz Gawron spoke: “They are ignoring us. We should address the voivode directly.”
The Council supported Karol Stasik’s motion with 16 votes in favour. K. Gawron abstained.
