The incident occurred on Monday, 25 September, in the evening. The driver of a Volkswagen, a 36-year-old man from Osiecznica Municipality, failed to stop for a roadside check. Police officers gave chase.
The 36-year-old fled along Staszica and Kościuszki Streets, driving through Łąka and Krępnica. He was arrested in Bolesławice.
It turned out that the man had fled because he was due to serve a 120-day prison sentence for damaging property. Moreover, the fugitive did not have a driving licence and had probably been driving under the influence of drugs.
The 36-year-old could now face up to five years in prison.
