The incident occurred on Friday, September 22. Several fire service units (PSP Bolesławiec, OSP Raciborowice, OSP Warta Bolesławiecka and OSP Jurków) and the gas emergency service took part in an operation in a field in Raciborowice Górne—approximately 100 meters from the last buildings. The smell of gas was detectable in the air.
At approximately 9:15 p.m., the firefighters’ operation ended. The site was taken over by gas utility employees, who will repair the damaged gas pipeline.

As we read on the Facebook profile of the volunteer firefighters from Raciborowice:
Upon arriving at the scene, it turned out that earthworks had damaged a gas pipe. [...] Gas was escaping profusely, posing a threat to nearby residents and to people traveling by vehicle along the road toward Sędzimirów.
Firefighters from Bolesławiec, the Specialist Chemical and Ecological Rescue Group from Legnica, OSP Raciborowice, OSP Warta Bolesławiecka, OSP Jurków and the gas emergency service took part in the operation.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
