On Friday, 15 September, a tragic accident occurred on the A4. A 39-year-old man from Małopolska, driving a Renault minibus, crashed into the back of a lorry. He died at the scene. As it turns out, once again both firefighters and police officers had trouble reaching the scene of the tragedy.
On the Facebook profile of the campaign Emergency Corridor – Think Before You Act, we read:
We present the journey of firefighters from OSP KSRG Czerna to a fatal accident on the 37th kilometre of the A4 motorway in the direction of Zgorzelec! The police are travelling with the fire service. The former, despite having a much smaller vehicle, are also having trouble getting through. It may be the same motorway, but each section is different; take a look – there are moments when there is a traffic jam, but a little further on the emergency corridor has been created perfectly!
The campaign’s creators added:
Why did a large proportion of drivers not remain at the edge of the road, but instead return to their lane? The answer is simple: because I’m in a hurry and maybe I’ll manage to get through; other people’s lives or health don’t matter to me!! And finally, professional drivers got out of their vehicles and went to see what had happened, leaving their vehicles and the firefighters with no way through, while the latter, without thinking, rushed to help and ran the last 400 m!!! PEOPLE, THINK!!!
