The incident took place during the night of September 21–22 in the Centrum housing estate in Lubin. A resident heard noises coming from the vicinity of one of the stores. There, he noticed a young man who had smashed a window. The perpetrator looked around to see whether anyone was watching him and went inside. The resident observing him notified the police.
The burglar was caught red-handed. He was so busy packing his loot—alcohol and cigarettes—that he did not notice the police officers.
The 27-year-old resident of Lubin now faces up to 10 years in prison.
