The autumn edition of the “I Can Swim” program began on September 11. A total of 180 children from Bolesławiec joined the project and will complete a 20-hour general swimming course at the “Orka” Bolesławiec Water Park. Over four years of cooperation between the Municipality of Bolesławiec and the Lower Silesian Sports Federation, 1,550 children from Bolesławiec have taken part and PLN 232,500 has been obtained to implement the program. The Ministry of Sport and Tourism and the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship co-financed the implementation of the “I Can Swim” program.
The School Sports Club program has also continued since September for more than 150 children from primary schools in Bolesławiec. As part of the program, regular classes are held twice a week, in 60-minute exercise sessions. The funding obtained for the program amounts to PLN 28,000 and is allocated to the remuneration of those conducting extracurricular sports activities.
It is worth recalling that a condition for implementing the program is the free provision of sports facilities, together with the necessary sports equipment, by local government units.
