The organizers of the event were BiegamBoLubię campaign coaches Daniel Najdek and Dariusz Łomański, together with the MKS Bolesłavia club and students from the military classes at the Zespół Szkół Ogólnokształcących i Zawodowych im. mjra Henryka Sucharskiego.
“The growing turnout in the run is encouraging, showing that the people of Bolesławiec want to help. On Saturday, eight five-person relay teams competed, covering a total of 114 kilometers and 115 meters in 60 minutes. The kilometers run will be converted by the run’s sponsor, Bank PKO, into money that will go to children from poor families in our province,” said BBL coach Daniel Najdek.
Family and club relay teams entered the competition, as did runners who formed teams on site.
“The large participation of children is encouraging. By taking part in the run, they decided to help their peers. Of course, former and current MKS Bolesłavia athletes were also present. This year’s four-time Polish Championships medalist, who represented Poland at this year’s European U23 Championships and the Universiade, Ewa Ochocka, responded wonderfully. She completed laps around the stadium together with the others and then presented the youngest participants with commemorative medals and certificates, while the remaining participants received commemorative T-shirts,” noted coach Dariusz Łomański.
“The Klub Biegacza Bolesławiec relay team covered the greatest distance—17,240 meters—while all the others covered more than 12 kilometers,” adds Daniel Najdek. “Congratulations and thank you to all the runners.”
The organizers of BiegamBoLubię are already inviting everyone to the fourth edition of the run next year, and earlier to free running classes held every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the athletics Orlik field (ZSOiZ, ul. Komuny Paryskiej).
