The New Horizons Association and Kino Forum once again welcome the new school year with offerings for young viewers and their guardians. The School Film Library. New Horizons Film Education project is aimed at students and teachers who, as part of school activities, want to watch worthwhile films and discuss them. The programme has enjoyed public recognition throughout Poland for years – among Students and Teachers, as it combines exceptional substantive value with an attractive format.
Kino Forum’s offer is organised into thematic series for all age groups: preschools, grades I–III; IV–VI; lower-secondary school and grades VII, as well as upper-secondary schools. Each series consists of seven meetings during the school year, from October to April. Each group comes to the cinema once a month. The meetings include a presentation given by an invited guest or a multimedia presentation, a film screening and a discussion for interested students. In cooperation with film critics, film scholars and teachers, teaching materials for teachers have been prepared for the films. Each consists of a film studies section and a lesson plan.
Registration for the project for the 2017/2018 school year is open until 10 October; however, to secure a place in the selected series, it is worth submitting the form as soon as possible. It is available at www.panel.nhef.pl/zgloszenie. Detailed information about the project can be found in the leaflets and on the project website: www.nhef.pl

New Horizons Film Education is an original programme created and run for more than 10 years by the New Horizons Association. The project enables children and young people to encounter cinema – both the classics and contemporary works. Participants deepen their knowledge of film art, develop their sensitivity and prepare for independent and conscious engagement with culture. Through New Horizons Film Education, we want to introduce young viewers to film art and inspire them to love it, while complementing their school education. The entire NHEF programme complies with the core curriculum and is recommended by the Ministry of National Education and Education Authorities.
