In an email to our editorial office, a Reader wrote: “As is well known, the renovation of provincial road 297 Bolesławiec–Lwówek Śl. has been under way for some time. As a result, appropriate detours have been designated.”

But he immediately added:

Unfortunately, quite a large number of drivers, despite the appropriate signage, consciously do not use the recommended detours. The result is that these drivers very often break the rules by failing to comply with the applicable prohibition signs, etc. (As in the attached video).

For example, it is enough to stand for 5–10 minutes at the intersection in the direction of Żeliszów in Suszki […], to observe how many drivers fail to comply with sign B2 (no entry) and sign B33 (speed limit, in this case to 30 km/h).

The situation is also not looking its best at weekends, when a large number of drivers travelling to and from mountain towns likewise do not use the designated detours. At that time, many cars with out-of-town registration plates drive along the narrow rural roads despite the no-entry sign, which also makes, for example, a Sunday walk and relaxation quite difficult.

We will return to the subject.
