Members of the Bolesławiec Amateur Radio Club, which has been active in our town for many years, were busy during the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival. At the Ceramic Days, our amateur radio operators had their own stand and made contacts with radio amateurs from around the world, promoting the Bolesławiec festival. They had been conducting the campaign since April, with its culmination taking place during the festival. Our amateur radio operators spoke, among others, with the Caribbean Islands, Argentina, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, Venezuela, the USA and the United Arab Emirates.

As part of the campaign, special cards confirming the completed contacts were issued; their content promoted Bolesławiec and the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival. The contacts were made by: Piotr Cetler, Bartek Górecki, Zbigniew Fuchs, Kazimierz Kędzierski, Henryk Kobiałka, Marek Borek and Jan Galus. The printing of the cards was funded by the Bolesławiec City Hall.

This was not the first such campaign by our amateur radio operators. As early as 2014, President Piotr Roman recognized this exceptional initiative by awarding the Club a prize for promoting Bolesławiec. As we read on the municipal office’s website, “in 2013, the club operating within the Polish Amateur Radio Union organized, during the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival, a campaign of contacts with amateur radio operators from around the world, including via satellite communications.”
