The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 30, in one of Lubin’s housing estates. Neighbors heard the screams of a woman who threatened to blow up the building. They knew that a young girl might be in the apartment with her. They called the police.
Through the door, the officers heard the girl mentioned above calling for help. When they tried to get inside, the woman who was also there threatened that, if they did not stop, she would jump out of the window or blow up the building.
Firefighters arrived to help. When they extended the ladder, the police officers found themselves beneath the apartment windows. Then other uniformed officers forced open the door and took care of the terrified girl. (They gave her stuffed toys).
The woman who was supposed to care for the child was placed under medical care.
