Police received information that cannabis was being grown in rented premises in one of the buildings in Jelenia Góra. At the scene, officers found a 61-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man who were tending the plantation. The officers seized 48 cannabis plants (at various stages of growth) and nearly 2.5 kilograms of ready-to-sell marijuana.

The plantation was located in specially prepared rooms equipped with devices controlling heating, lighting and ventilation. The black-market value of the seized narcotic substances exceeds 500,000 złoty. (What is more, in the woman’s apartment, officers found 41 bottles of spirits without Polish excise-duty markings).

The woman and the man were detained in police custody. Both face up to 10 years in prison.
