A dangerous road incident occurred on August 29, at around 10:45 a.m., on Jana Pawła II Street in Jelenia Góra (national road No. 3). According to the officers’ findings, the 20-year-old driver of an Opel Zafira, travelling towards Zgorzelec, most likely lost control of the vehicle because of excessive speed, veered towards the centre of the road, hit a kerb, overturned, crossed the grass verge and collided with a police car travelling along that lane.

Fortunately, no one suffered serious injuries. Blood was taken from the collision suspect for testing because it cannot be ruled out that he was driving under the influence of intoxicating substances. If this is confirmed, the 20-year-old could face up to three years in prison.
