The incident occurred on August 28. The duty officer of the Bolesławiec Municipal Police received a concerning report about a group of young people walking on the roof of one of the high-rise buildings on Jana Pawła II Street. A patrol was immediately dispatched to the scene. (The city monitoring operator located the young people, who, while on the roof, were behaving casually, as if they were in a park.)
At the scene, it turned out that five thirteen-year-olds had climbed onto the roof through a window connecting the stairwells of the high-rise building. There, the young people held a social gathering. The main reason they were putting their lives and health at risk was their desire to take a selfie.
The teenagers were collected by their guardians. The officers asked the building manager to secure the windows so that they would no longer tempt other selfie enthusiasts.
