Zgorzelec police officers stopped a Fiat for inspection on one of the city’s streets. A 35-year-old resident of Bełchatów was behind the wheel. He was very nervous. As it turned out, he had several doses of piko (methamphetamine) on him. What is more, he was driving despite a court-ordered driving ban—and he was wanted by the court because he had a one-year prison sentence to serve.

The 35-year-old was first taken to a police detention facility and then to a remand centre. He now additionally faces up to five years in prison.
