For some time, officers from the Criminal Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters with its seat in Radom had been investigating a group that specialized in stealing overhead traction lines. The crimes were committed throughout the country. The police identified locations where wire theft might occur.
On 24 August, criminal investigators from Radom, together with officers from the District Police Headquarters in Lubin, arrested two people suspected of stealing 80 meters of copper line in Lubin County. Both men, aged 43 and 61, were taken into police custody.
