The incident occurred on August 20, at around 10:10 p.m. The Jelenia Góra police duty officer received a report that the driver of one of the Volkswagen cars was probably intoxicated.
Officers stopped the vehicle in question for inspection. The driver turned out to be a 25-year-old Ukrainian citizen. The officers detected a strong smell of alcohol on him. The test showed more than 2 per mille.
The Ukrainian wanted to give the police officers PLN 1,000 in exchange for them abandoning their official duties. He explained that he had no cash, so he suggested that the officers drive with him to his apartment to get the money.
The result? The 25-year-old was taken to police custody. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
