The incident occurred on Sunday, August 13, on the A4 motorway. Traffic police officers received information that the driver of an Opel Vectra, who was driving across the entire width of the road, was probably intoxicated.
At the scene, the officers spotted the vehicle in question. Its driver had hit the crash barriers. But that did not make him think twice. Not at all. The reckless driver was reversing, intending to continue driving along the motorway. Fortunately, the police prevented him from doing so.
The 36-year-old, a resident of Kielce, clearly smelled of alcohol. At first, the man refused to take a breathalyzer test, so his blood was collected. Then, after approximately three hours, he nevertheless blew into the device in question. The test showed more than 2.3 per mille. (What is more, a gas gun was found in the Kielce resident’s car).
The man was taken into police custody. He faces up to two years in prison.
