During a patrol, a district police officer from the Zgorzelec police station noticed a car driver who failed to obey a traffic light at one of the intersections. The man entered the intersection, forcing other drivers to brake sharply.
The police officer immediately turned the patrol car around and began procedures to stop the road violator. However, the latter did not stop; on the contrary, he began fleeing through the city streets, completely ignoring the officer’s signals.
Traffic police officers joined the pursuit. The result? The 39-year-old man from Zgorzelec was arrested. It also became clear why he had fled. He was drunk, with 1.2 per mille of alcohol in his system.
The 39-year-old was taken into police custody. He faces up to five years in prison.
