The tragedy occurred during the night of August 5–6. A road accident took place on the Bogatynia–Sieniawka road (Zgorzelec County), in which a police officer from the Police Station in Bogatynia, who was driving a passenger car, lost his life. The police officer was returning to his loved ones after completing his shift. The prosecutor’s office is investigating the causes of the accident.
The police community has lost an outstanding professional, while the Family has lost a wonderful husband and father. Junior aspirant Artur Owsiak was 48 years old. He joined the Police service in 2008. He was mainly associated with the investigative division. He was one of the most experienced officers at the Police Station in Bogatynia. On numerous occasions, he used his extensive knowledge to support many younger, less experienced colleagues, who could always count on his help.
Junior aspirant Artur Owsiak leaves behind a wife and son. This is an enormous tragedy and a tremendous loss for the Family and the entire police community.
