The incident occurred on 4 August on Wojska Polskiego in Bolesławiec. The 37-year-old woman from Bolesławiec attacked her brother with a knife, stabbing him six times in the back, chest area and forearm. She threatened to kill him.

The man suffered minor injuries. However, it was determined that through her actions the suspect intended to cause the attacked man serious bodily harm.

The court granted the application of the district prosecutor and on 6 August ordered Agnieszka N. to be held in temporary custody for three months. (The judge found that there was a justified concern that the suspect might again commit an offence against life and health).

Causing serious bodily harm, as well as attempting to cause it, is punishable by up to ten years’ imprisonment.
