On 4 August 2017 in Bolesławiec, Marshal Cezary Przybylski and Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman signed an agreement to carry out the project “Modernisation of digital classrooms in 9 schools in Bolesławiec to improve the quality of education” under the Regional Operational Programme of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Sub-measure 7.1.1 Investments in preschool, primary and lower-secondary education – horizontal competitions.
On 23 January, the Board of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship approved the list of projects to receive funding for investments in primary and lower-secondary education in Lower Silesia under Sub-measure 7.1.1 Investments in preschool, primary and lower-secondary education – horizontal competitions – call for proposals for OSI (Infrastructure of primary and lower-secondary schools). Among the nine approved projects was one submitted by the Municipality of Bolesławiec under the name “Modernisation of digital classrooms in 9 schools in Bolesławiec to improve the quality of education”.
The aim of the project is to improve teaching conditions in five primary schools and four lower-secondary schools located in Bolesławiec.
The project budget is PLN 2,154,995.84, of which the City of Bolesławiec’s own contribution is 15%, or PLN 323,249.37.
The project includes creating two classrooms in each primary school (for grades I–III and IV–VI) and one in each lower-secondary school. The classroom equipment will include:
- office furniture;
- a computer workstation for each student, together with system and office software;
- a workstation for the teacher (a laptop with a docking station), together with system and office software;
- a server supporting the classroom, together with the necessary server software, classroom management and antivirus software, including complete classroom installation;
- an interactive whiteboard with a projector;
- laptops for teachers to prepare lessons;
- a multifunction device
- educational software for teaching school subjects.
Additionally, one institution (MZS No. 2) will receive a set of robots, together with mobile devices, for teaching programming.
The classrooms will be created at:
- Municipal School Complex No. 1 (3 classrooms)
- Municipal School Complex No. 2 (3 classrooms)
- Municipal School Complex No. 3 (3 classrooms)
- Primary School No. 3 (2 classrooms)
- Primary School No. 4 (2 classrooms)
- Municipal Lower-Secondary School No. 2 (1 classroom).
The rooms will also be adapted for children with disabilities. The project will be carried out later this year.
