Police officers from the Economic Crime Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica, while driving to work, noticed an Audi on Iwaszkiewicza Street that was stopped in the middle of an intersection. A motionless man was sitting behind the wheel. The officers decided to check what had happened. When they approached the car, they saw that the 54-year-old was sitting motionless and staring straight ahead.
The man spoke incoherently, but there was no smell of alcohol on him. The officers realized that the driver was experiencing health problems. One of them began administering first aid, while the other called an ambulance.
Paramedics determined that the 54-year-old’s condition was serious. The man was taken to hospital and admitted to the neurosurgery ward. Fortunately, his life is no longer in danger.
Had it not been for the officers’ quick response, the situation could have ended tragically. According to city surveillance footage, the man had been sitting in the car for several minutes. None of the drivers passing the vehicle at the intersection reacted.
